Hurricane Katrina- Update Tuesday 9/06/05- 2 Pumps working- Water level falling

Not sure how many water bumps New Orleans has in total but I do know that TWO of them are now working and the others are being repaired as I type and should be online soon…As of 2:00pm CDT today-- Water levels have fallen by up to a foot in many places in the City of New Orleans. Also at this time the levees are not fixed but patched is more the word to describe the situation. Good news though-- the water that was coming into town has now been stopped. A permanent fix for the levees are being worked on as I type and that is truly the first baby step on getting this City back on the road to Recovery… (Click on photo for Video/slde)

Yet again- I warn you this… Be ready my friends for what we are going to see and hear when the water is gone-- It will be a sight most cameras will not cover nor should they. Some say the death total could go as high as 10,000… We can only pray those numbers are way- WAY off…

*** OPEN-ENDED POST START ***
Oil Prices dropped by 6%, down $1.61 today to $65.96 a barrel…
Oil refineries coming on line faster than first expected- 90% of all the offshore rigs spread out all over the gulf came out receiving little to no damage and that’s great news for all of us… Gas prices at the Pumps have already started to drop… Here in Shreveport, Louisiana- this afternoon I saw no gas lines and I didn’t see any store or station out of gas either. Gas prices around town seemed to go from $2.78 to $2.99 a gallon for regular unleaded. Still to high but these prices should continue to go down through the week... So just maybe thing are looking up a little bit-- but it still doesn’t make me feel better or take away the suffering of those down south from here......
*******Closed******* and good night...
