President's Radio Address – April 29, 2006
... On Wednesday, Iraq's leaders united to strongly condemn Zarqawi's statements. One Iraqi official declared that the terrorists and insurgents, quote, "are feeling this might be the last chance they have to survive. They're fighting everyone in Iraq -- every Iraqi. I think that shows how weak they are." End quote. A newly appointed first Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament said that Zarqawi fears the new government will unify Shiites and Sunnis and Kurds. He said, quote, "I believe that Zarqawi was caught off guard by the new government taking shape because it will be a very strong one representing all Iraqis." End quote...

Anti-Iraqi Forces camera crew busted
Heads up patrolling and attention to detail aided 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team troops in capturing a pair of anti-Iraqi Forces cameramen in Mosul April 28.
The troops noticed the two men video taping their convoy as they conducted a security patrol in the city. As soon as the Soldiers began to move towards the camera crew, the two individuals scrambled in an attempt to flee. Effective maneuvering allowed the troops to box in the men without incident.
A quick search of the car the AIF were driving yielded two IED initiating devices. The men both claimed they were hired to videotape the activities of coalition forces during patrols in the area.
Both men tested positive for explosives residue and were taken to a coalition detention facility for processing.

My Views -- (Welcome to my first Post- again)
No better way to start off than with a quote...
"In time, perhaps, we will mark the memory of September 11 in stone and metal. Something we can show to our children as yet unborn to help them understand what happened on this minute and on this day. But for those of us who lived through these events, the only marker we'll ever need is the tick of a clock at the 46th minute of the eighth hour of the 11th day...”
President George W. Bush
December 11, 2001
My answer to this is from my remarks on the homepage of my website at AubreyJ.org. It goes as follows: No matter what your political views might be... One thing is for certain. In these days of fast news and even faster life styles, we all seem to have forgotten those moments in history that so abruptly and tragically changed this beloved Country of ours.
911- How soon we forget.
Now don’t get me wrong… I know all of us have not forgotten 9-11. Yet I do feel that most of us have forgotten the magnitude of the day and the repercussions that soon followed afterwards. Even to this day the repercussions can still be felt.
I came to this conclusion back in July, 2004 during the time when all the hype on the Presidential election was in full swing. My god… All of the crap that was going on during this time was just beyond belief.
You remember??? All the mean hearted ads that were coming out one behind the other. All the one sided columnist and most of the news media, negatively hammering away at anything and everything the President had done or was trying to do. They never once mentioned any of the good things GW had achieved during his first 4 years in office. Made one think we were back in the old Vietnam days again. At least that’s where all the ads and news rhetoric was trying to take us.
My first thought on this was, “Hello out there… Has everyone forgotten the horrors of 9-11?” Seemed to me they had. Think about it. All events, the economy, jobs +/-, (and the list goes on,) all come back to this one day in history. You can spin it anyway you would like but it will always come back to 9-11, one way or the other.
Another thought that came to mind was, “what in the world did Vietnam have to do with anything that was going on, at this moment, on this day?” NOTHING!!! It surely had nothing to do with 9-11 or with any of the mess that followed afterwards. It had nothing to do with the war on terror, the economy, job gains, Social Security, Medicaid or even with Welfare.
The way I saw it, the Bush Administration performed very well considering all the abnormal circumstances that so abruptly fell into their laps after 9-11. By itself, just trying to keep this country heading forward and staying on the right path would have been a hard enough task for any administration. Yet Bush did it well and with the backing of most Americans too.
Were there mistakes made during Bush’s first 4 years? Of course there were. Our great country had never been put into a situation like the one 9-11 brought onto us. NEVER!!! It was the first time in our history that I think we ever had to, “learn as you go.” And we had to learn at a very rapid pace at that… But if you were to listen to all those Left Wing folks out there, they seemed to have forgotten all of that. All they wanted to do was to give you a mile long list of spin on all the wrong doings they thought the Bush Administration had done.
Just another case of Monday morning quarterbacking. They couldn’t help it. They couldn’t come up with a better plan for nothing. Unless you think going back to the old days of thinking, as it was before 9-11, was a good plan. NOT!!!
Anyway... As you can tell by now, I had no likings for John Kerry or his Party. Well… We’ll just say for the way his Party had become. It’s not my fault. The Democratic Party did at least once stand for something. But not now a day. All they stand for now, as before the election, is a bunch of rhetoric and who can hate President Bush the most. Maybe they can get their act together over the next year or two. This country and the war on terror would surely run a lot smoother by them doing so. But if they don’t, we’re going to take a lot of them out of office in the 2006 elections and god help them in 2008. Time will tell I guess.
Oh well… The bottom line for me is my man won. Right man for the right job, George W Bush. And yes, I truly do believe that history will soon enough prove this fact out...

Report on Iran Nuclear Safeguards Sent to Agency’s Board and UN Security Council
IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei today released his report Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The report was prepared at the request of the United Nation’s Security Council. Its circulation is restricted, and unless the IAEA Board of Governors and Security Council decide otherwise, the Agency can not authorise its release to the public.
On 29 March 2006 the Security Council requested "in 30 days a report from the Director General of the IAEA on the process of Iranian compliance with the steps required by the IAEA Board, to the IAEA Board of Governors and in parallel to the Security Council for its consideration."
The report was simultaneously circulated to the Agency’s Member States and to the Security Council in New York this afternoon.

President Reiterates Diplomacy to Deal with Iran
Diplomacy remains America's choice in dealing with Iran, President Bush said today.
"We're forming a strong coalition of like-minded countries that believe that the Iranians should not have a nuclear weapon," he said during a White House press conference. "And I've told the American people that diplomacy is my first choice, and it should be the first choice of every American president in order to solve a very difficult problem."
"It's very important for the Iranians to understand there's a ... common desire by a lot of nations of this world to convince them, peacefully convince them, that they ought to give up their weapons ambitions," Bush said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency said today Iran has ignored calls to suspend uranium fuel enrichment and remains in defiance of the U. N. Security Council, according to news reports.
The president distinguished Iran from Iraq. "There are significant differences between Iran and Iraq," Bush said. He noted that Iraq had a history of aggressive acts that included using weapons of mass destruction on its own people, invading its neighbors, and firing at U.S. aircraft.
"Iraq went through 16 different Security Council resolutions," Bush said. "There was resolution after resolution."
To date, the Security Council has not passed a resolution regarding Iran's desire to acquire nuclear weapons capabilities.
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reportedly told a rally in northwest Iran today that "those who want to prevent Iranians from obtaining their right, should know that we do not give a damn about such resolutions."
Asked if he thought the Iranian president was someone he could work with, Bush replied: "That's going to be his choice eventually, and it's going to be very important for Mr. Ahmadinejad to recognize the world is united in our desire, and it's his choice to make."

Life Aboard USS Reagan Revolves Around Support To Iraq
The purpose of the craft comes together on the flight deck. That's the ship's reason to exist. Providing support up north is the mission, and the flight deck crew goes at it with a vengeance. The crew exhibits crisp professionalism, but they treat the whole experience a bit nonchalantly. They think nothing of walking on one side of the red-and-white "foul line" painted on the deck, while just on the other side of the line a jet screams in at 150 miles an hour and comes to a halt in about 300 feet...

Planned Protest of a Marine's Funeral- Friday
Many thanks to Kimberly M. for the heads up on this planned protest of a Marine's funeral this Friday......
Her email went as follows...
Aubrey,
I didn't know if you heard about Fred Phelps, who is planning to protest a Marine's funeral in Kenner, LA tomorrow. This idiot's website is http://www.godhatesfags.com, and he is planning on disgracing this young Marine's funeral in an attempt to make himself look and feel better. This action absolutely disgusts me and if I could I would go down there and help shield his family from this manic. Just thought it might be something you might want to post on your website. This idiot goes around the country and protests at a lot of Iraq veterans funerals who died defending our country.
Thanks,
Kimberly M.
*******************************
Again I’ll say... thank you Kimberly.
Now... as with Kimberly, I too agree with Alan, (at http://maverickviews.blogspot.com/2006/03/just-repulsive.html,) and so many others. This Fred Phelps and the likes of him make me sick!!!
For now I’ll just ask that the word be put out there and if anyone lives down in that part of Louisiana... please go to where Phelps and his bunch will be at and block them from the view from this family in grief. That goes for all these sickening protest in the future by this bunch too. (Keep it with the respect of the families in mind and within the LAW.)
I’ll end by saying this. You would think that Congress could pass a law to stop this kind of BS in its tracks. I mean look... I’m a strong believer in the freedom of speech... but I do think there is a line and this line has surely been crossed by Phelps and party.
Thanks to all...

On 25 April, The Global News Network posted a statement issued by The Mujahidin Shura Council in Iraq [Majlis Shura al-Mujahidin fial-Iraq] announcing a new message from Abu-Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, leader of the Al-Qa'ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers (I.E. Iraq), and provided links to a 34-minute 4-second video statement titled, "This is a Declaration to the People." In it, al-Zarqawi rages against the democratically-elected Iraqi government, encouraging Iraqis and foreign fighters to wage war within the country. President Bush Announces Tony Snow as Press Secretary
9:10 A.M. EDT
THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. I'm here in the briefing room to break some news. I've asked Tony Snow to serve as my new press secretary.
Tony already knows most of you, and he's agreed to take the job anyway. (Laughter) And I'm really glad he did. I'm confident Tony Snow will make an outstanding addition to this White House staff. I am confident he will help you do your job. My job is to make decisions, and his job is to help explain those decisions to the press corps and the American people.
He understands like I understand that the press is vital to our democracy. As a professional journalist, Tony Snow understands the importance of the relationship between government and those whose job it is to cover the government. He's going to work hard to provide you with timely information about my philosophy, my priorities, and the actions we're taking to implement our agenda.
He brings a long record of accomplishment to this position. He has spent a quarter of a century in the news business. He's worked in all three major media -- print, radio and television. He started his career in 1979 as an editorial writer for The Greensboro Record in North Carolina. He's going to -- went on to write editorials for The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk. He ran the editorial pages in both The Daily Press of Newport News and The Washington Times. He's written nationally syndicated columns for both The Detroit News and USA Today.
During his career in print journalism, he's been cited for his work by the Society for Professional Journalists, the Associated Press, and Gannett. For seven years, he served as the host of "FOX News Sunday." Most recently, he reached Americans all across our country as the host of "The Tony Snow Show" on FOX News Radio, and "Weekend Live with Tony Snow" on the FOX News Channel.
He's not afraid to express his own opinions. For those of you who have read his columns and listened to his radio show, he sometimes has disagreed with me. I asked him about those comments, and he said, "You should have heard what I said about the other guy." I like his perspective, I like the perspective he brings to this job, and I think you're going to like it, too.
Tony knows what it's like to work inside the White House. In 1991, he took a break from journalism to serve as Director of Speechwriting and Deputy Assistant to the President for Media Affairs. He's taught children in Kenya. He belongs to a rock band called Beats Working. He's a man of courage, he's a man of integrity, he loves his family a lot. He is the loving husband of a fine wife, and the father of three beautiful children.
He succeeds a decent and talented man in Scott McClellan. I've known Scott since he worked for me in Texas. We traveled our state together, we traveled our country together, and we have traveled the world together. We have also made history together. Scott should be enormously proud of his service to our nation in an incredibly difficult job. I've always -- I will always be grateful to him. I will always be proud to call him, "friend."
I appreciate Scott's offer to help Tony Snow prepare for his new job, and I'm proud to welcome Tony as part of our team.
MR. SNOW: Well, Mr. President, I want to thank you for the honor of serving as Press Secretary. And just a couple of quick notes, I'm delighted to be here. One of the things I want to do is just make it clear that I -- one of the reasons I took the job is not only because I believe in the President, because believe it or not, I want to work with you. These are times that are going to be very challenging. We've got a lot of big issues ahead, and we've got a lot of important things that all of us are going to be covering together.
And I am very excited, and I can't wait, and I want to thank you, Mr. President, for the honor, and thank all you guys for your forbearance, and I look forward to working with you.
Thanks......

Taliban Killed, Wounded in Firefight; Coalition Aircraft Interdict Enemy
Afghan National Police fought a significant Taliban force in Mianashin, near Kandahar City, in Kandahar province, while coalition forces interdicted enemy fighters in Helmand province, both yesterday, U. S. military officials in Afghanistan said today.
The ANP reported three Taliban fighters were killed and another seven wounded in the firefight. One ANP officer was killed and six others were wounded.
Coalition forces were aware of the Kandahar incident but did not take part.
"I congratulate the ANP for yesterday's successful operation in Mianashin," said British Brig. Gen. David Fraser, Combined Task Force Aegis commander, said today. "The coalition is convinced by actions such as yesterday's firefight that the ANP will play an even larger role in improving security across Afghanistan in the days and weeks ahead.
"More and more, Afghan authorities are successfully protecting good citizens from terrorists and criminals who are trying to destroy Afghanistan’s future," Fraser added.
Coalition aircraft patrolling the Helmand province fired two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and dropped one bomb on four enemies while they were meeting at a suspected Taliban camp in the Lashkar Gah district.
Three enemy fighters were killed and one fled during the air strike.
No damage to civilians or property was observed during the operation.
The people killed were responsible for launching numerous attacks against the Afghan government and coalition forces, including financing terrorist activities, officials said.
"Afghan and coalition forces will continue to pursue those who stand in the way of the government of Afghanistan's objectives," said Army Lt. Col. Paul Fitzpatrick, Combined Joint Task Force 76 spokesman. "Afghans are tired of the death and violence Taliban fighters and other enemies of Afghanistan have inflicted upon them," he said.

America needs to be reminded about the Democrats
Many thanks to Amy Proctor for the following post she did titled “NEVER FORGET (Democrats Politicizing 9/11.)” Be sure to click it out.
I’d have to add that the Dems are not just politicizing 9-11... but everything else as far as that goes. And yes... the drumbeat from the left does sound the same as it has for several years now and the MSM is truly their orchestra...
Check out this Video by GOP.com HERE, (or watch it at Amy’s post.) I bet you too forgot all about this one...
(This video needs to be put out in the news and Blogs all over again... America needs to be reminded. These are the same people who if allowed to regain power… would try to Impeach this President whose only guilt is to try to protect the American People and her Allies. Never forget that...)
AubreyJ.........
OK-- Here’s a good example of how the MSM and the Dems work together...
... Several Democratic U.S. lawmakers pointed to a newly broadcast audiotape purported to be from Osama bin Laden as a sign that the Bush administration has wasted efforts in Iraq instead of adequately cracking down on al Qaeda...
You can read this typical Left Leaning MSM Reporting at CNN.com.
(All I can say is... “Show them the VIDEO!!!”)

Two new Blogs
I’ve been playing around some lately and started these two new Blogs to go along with this one. (Page two and three you might say.)
One Blog is about the Captured Prewar Iraqi Documents that we hear so little about in the MSM. I for one think some powerful things will come out of these documents in time. So this Blog was born that I titled “Captured Prewar Iraqi Documents – AubreyJ.org.” If you should come across a good read on this topic... please let me know......
You can check this Blog out HERE
The other Blog is a Video Blog of all my slide/videos that I’ve put together over the last year or so. You just might like this one too. I titled this one “AubreyJ.org – Video Blog.” I’m working on another slide that I’m going to call “Home at Last.” I’m taking my time and doing my best to make this little slide as heart warming as possible. So... look for it to be ready by around mid next week. (If you check out any of the slides... be sure to click the video play button twice to get the sides to play.)
Anyway... you can check this new Blog out HERE

Airmen Missing In Action From WWII are Identified
No. 338-06 April 21, 2006
Airmen Missing In Action From WWII are Identified
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of eleven U.S. airmen, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and are being returned to their families for burial with full military honors.
They are:
Capt. Thomas C. Paschal, El Monte, Calif.
1st Lt. Frank P. Giugliano, New York, N.Y.
1st Lt. James P. Gullion, Paris, Texas
2nd Lt. Leland A. Rehmet, San Antonio, Texas
2nd Lt. John A. Widsteen, Palo Alto, Calif.
Staff Sgt. Richard F. King, Moultrie, Ga.
Staff Sgt. William Lowery, Republic, Pa.
Staff Sgt. Elgin J. Luckenbach, Luckenbach, Texas.
Staff Sgt. Marion B. May, Amarillo, Texas.
Sgt. Marshall P. Borofsky, Chicago, Ill.
Sgt. Walter G. Harm, Philadelphia, Penn.
all U.S. Army Air Forces.
The group remains of the entire crew are to be buried today at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC, as are the individual remains of each man with the exception of King, Giugliano and Widsteen, whose families have elected hometown burials.
On April 16, 1944, Paschal and Widsteen were piloting a B-24J Liberator with the other nine men aboard. The aircraft was returning to Nadzab, New Guinea after bombing enemy targets near Hollandia. The plane was last seen off the coast of the island flying into poor weather.
The loss was investigated following the war and a military board concluded that the aircraft had been lost over water and was unrecoverable.
In early 2001 a team of specialists from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) interviewed a native of Papua New Guinea who claimed to have found the aircraft crash and recovered identification media for May and Harm. The team surveyed the site in 2002 and found wreckage that matched Paschal’s aircraft tail number along with human remains. They also took custody of remains previously collected by the villager.
Later that year, two additional JPAC teams excavated the crash site and recovered additional human remains and crew-related artifacts. Identification tags were found for Luckenbach, May and Paschal. Other crew-related materials found were consistent with items used by the Army Air Forces around 1944.
Mitochondrial DNA obtained from dental and bone samples was one of the forensic tools used by JPAC scientists and Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory specialists to identify the airmen.

Band of Brothers Soldiers Detain Suspects, Unearth Major Cache
U. S. soldiers from Task Force Band of Brothers scored successes in two operations this week.
Soldiers from the task force caught seven suspected insurgents in the act of emplacing explosives yesterday. Soldiers on patrol with Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, observed the suspects digging. As the patrol approached, the suspects tried to flee in two vehicles. The soldiers stopped, searched and detained all the suspects.
In one vehicle, a blue truck, soldiers discovered more than 120 mortar rounds, fuses and four missiles. At the site where the individuals had been digging, soldiers found a cache containing 250 artillery and mortar rounds, two anti-personnel land mines, one anti-tank mine, and a hand grenade. The munitions were taken to a secured location for controlled detonation. The suspects are undergoing questioning, U. S. officials said.
Meanwhile, a large cache discovered in Diyala province April 19 by Task Force Band of Brothers soldiers continues to yield munitions, officials said.
Iraqi soldiers from 1st Battalion, 1st Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army Division, and Troop A, 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, uncovered more mortars and artillery rounds yesterday.
The initial find of nearly 50 mortar rounds and more than a dozen fuses was found to be much larger when an additional 250 artillery and mortar rounds were unearthed in the same location, officials said.

Sacrifices of Military Children Aren't Forgotten
This is something I think most Americans never give a thought to... When we talk about the sacrifice the military families have to make while one serves his/her country... we do seem to overlook the children...

Sacrifices of Military Children Aren't Forgotten, Pace Says
.
Children in military families make sacrifices and serve their country as much as anyone in uniform does, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said here today.
"In so many loving ways, our children quietly shoulder part of the burden, making their mom or dad understand that what they are doing is important," Marine Gen. Peter Pace said in an interview with the Pentagon Channel and American Forces Press Service.
Military parents often have to miss holidays and special occasions, and children are left home to worry while parents go on difficult missions, Pace said. Military families also have to move every two or three years, making the children uproot, change schools and say goodbye to friends, he said.
"There's no way, in my mind, that you can be successful in the military and have a family unless that family does, in fact, appreciate your service to the country," he said.
Because military children have to transition and adapt a lot, they gain great life experience and maturity, Pace said. He recognized that, as teenagers, his own children were much more worldly than he was at that age, because he spent his entire childhood in his hometown.
"I think that, in the main, growing up in a military family strengthens the individual," he said.
In honor of April's observance of the Month of the Military Child, Pace recently wrote a letter to military children, thanking them for their patience, understanding, courage and support.
In the letter, Pace thanked the children for their unconditional love and support of their parents, even through difficult separations. Military children's resilience and self confidence throughout frequent moves are strengths that others, including their parents, admire, he went on to say.
“You can be proud of your mom and dad for their brave defense of this great country," Pace said in the letter. “Your love and support sustains them. So thank you for being there for mom and dad. You are American patriots and role models for us all.”

.
We received information as to their whereabouts and checked out what they were doing. Turns out they were in the process of taking some more hostages, so we deployed our troops within minutes, tracked down and killed two of the terrorists and rescued the hostages, unscathed from the trunk.
.
This was an intelligence-based operation. On 25 March, we had been watching this black sedan for a while in the Tarmiya-area. Here you see it facing traffic the wrong way as a truck approaches. One man with a gun jumps out of the car, followed by others, and the truck hesitantly pulls over.
.
At gunpoint, men from the sedan pull two men out of the truck and force the hostages into the trunk of the sedan.
.
One man gets back into the sedan while the other two get into the truck and drive away. The two men in the sedan drive off and then turn down a back road.
.
At this point our troops have quickly launched to intercept the black sedan with the hostages in it.
.
After it passes a white car, our forces engage the sedan with three disabling shots into the engine block. The two men get out of the car and begin to run, but they don’t get away -- both hostage-takers were killed.
.
Simultaneously, troops moved to secure the sedan and release the hostages and ensure that everyone else is alright.
.
The rescued hostages were questioned about the truck driver and the hostage takers, but had little information – they were released immediately to their families a bit shaken understandably, but safe and sound.
.
This engagement clearly displays the quick reaction capabilities of Coalition Forces -- the nearly simultaneous merging of intelligence, operations and supporting personnel to conduct a precise and surgical strike that more than likely saved the lives of two Iraqis.
