BBC.co.uk brings us the following report this Wednesdy evening and it starts like this… More mass protests are expected in the Iranian capital after presidential challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi urged followers to observe a day of mourning… Mr. Mousavi called on supporters to stage peaceful protests or gather in mosques in memory of eight people killed after a Tehran rally on Monday… The BBC's Jon Leyne, in Tehran, says the government so far has no clear response to the daily demonstrations… Mr. Mousavi is calling for a rerun of last week's presidential election…

Aljazeera.net reports it this way… Anti-government protesters in Iran are set to mark a day of mourning on Thursday for those killed in post-election clashes… State media said seven people were killed in an opposition protest in Tehran against what defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi says was a rigged election last week in favor of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the incumbent president… On his website, Mousavi called on Iranians to stage peaceful demonstrations or gather in mosques on Thursday…

* BBC has this following article posted up on their website early this afternoon and it starts off like this… The crisis over the Iranian election has developed with such dizzying speed it is hard to take in the implications… Until barely two weeks ago, anti-government demonstrations were unheard of… Now the opposition routinely turns out hundreds of thousands of protesters on the street every day… Last weekend, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could claim that Iran was "almost completely free"… There were skeptics at the time… Now the foreign media are operating under some of the most sweeping restrictions in the world… So where is this crisis going, and what do the opposition want?...

* Guardian.co.uk has this report up early this Thursday afternoon and it goes in part like this… Analysts and diplomats say that the fact that Ahmadinejad has not been seen for three days as street protests and political turmoil rage suggests his position may have been weakened. Rallies backing him have been far less well attended than those organised by the Mousavi camp… "If he was feeling confident he would be more visible," said Arshin Adib-Moghaddam, of London University's School of Oriental and African Studies. "It would make sense for him to present himself as the president of all Iranians. But he appears to be a bit detached from reality. The way he reacted has seriously damaged his position."…
