Monday, January 09, 2006- NATO secretary-general, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, appealed today to the Netherlands parliament to approve sending more Dutch troops and military helicopters to Afghanistan. NATO troops are scheduled to replace some 2,000 departing US soldiers from the Enduring Freedom force.
