The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Dimitri Muscat, 21, of Aurora, Colo., died in Balad, Iraq, on Feb. 24, of non-combat related injuries sustained earlier that day in Samarra, Iraq. Muscat was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo. The incident is under investigation.
