US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte says it’s too early to trust Iran on Iraq

Although violence levels are down in Iraq, it is too early to trust that Iran is no longer trying to destabilise its war-torn neighbor, US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte said on Sunday... ‘I think it’s noteworthy that Iran has said (it is) not engaging in these types of activities but given past experience by Iran both here and elsewhere in the region I don’t think we can be complacent about this,’ Negroponte told a news conference in Baghdad...
