* Bloomberg.com had the following report posted up on their website this New Years Eve and it goes in part like this...Shale production is probably going to be with us forever and it can limit gains in gas prices,” said Peter Beutel, president of trading advisory company Cameron Hanover Inc. in New Canaan, Connecticut. “But if we have environmental rulings that certain states cannot produce shale gas, it’s going to take so much supply off the market.”...

* Also from Bloomberg.com is this report... Oil surged to its highest year-end price since 2007 as the dollar weakened and gasoline and heating oil futures climbed... Crude capped its second consecutive year of gains as the dollar dropped against the euro, boosting commodities’ appeal as an alternative investment. Oil settled above $91 a barrel after testing technical support near $89. Gasoline and heating oil advanced before the January contracts expired today...
