The Shreveport Times has a very nice write-up about Mr. Waggonner on their website HERE.
Here’s a Video Interview I found, (at the SOS.Louisiana.gov website,) with Representative Joe D. Waggoner on 2-12-1993.
Former U. S. Representative Joe D. Waggoner discusses his career in public service and politics that began in Bossier Parish as a Deputy Sheriff in the late 1940's and as a candidate for State Controller in 1959 on the Willie Rainach ticket. Waggoner ran for Congress after his predecessor Thomas Overton Brooks died in office, and served for seventeen years before retiring after the 1977-79 term. Other topics include his political philosophy and relationships with former Presidents and friendships with Governors Earl Long, Robert Kennon, Jimmie Davis and Edwin Edwards.

Condolences to Mr. Waggonner’s family and friends.
He will be missed...
