Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud’s close aide Qari Hussain, the top trainer of suicide bombers and one of his potential successors, was killed in the same US drone attack that fatally injured him, sources said...

"We won't know for certain until the Taliban wants us to know," said Rustam Shah Mohmand, a former Pakistani official who spent much of his career in the tribal areas where Mr. Mehsud operated and may have perished... The tribal areas of Pakistan—the home base for much of the Taliban's and al Qaeda's senior leadership—remain in some ways an intelligence black hole...
