The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Nicholas E. Riehl, 21, of Shiocton, Wis., died April 27th in Fallujah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat patrol. He was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
