The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Robert T. Ayres III, 23, of Los Angeles, died September 29th in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.
