Hurricane Katrina- Update Thursday- A City out of Control

Patience needed- as Thousands Flee the Bowels of New Orleans...
TRUCK SHIPMENT – A National Guard multi-purpose utility truck brings supplies to the Superdome in downtown New Orleans, La., Aug. 31, 2005. Tens of thousands of displaced citizens sought shelter at the dome, before, during and after Hurricane Katrina, but have been forced to evacuate as floodwaters continue to rise throughout the area. Again I ask FEMA to start a ‘Walk for Life’ program…
These refugees of Katrina need so desperately be told what to do and where to go… Lives are being lost every minute we wait. Please don’t take me wrong… FEMA is doing so much for these people already- Yet... so much more is needed and unfortunately time is running out for the many.........

** Over 90,000 Square miles of land has been declared Disaster Zones… This is going to be one of the worse disasters in this countries history for sure… It’s already probably one of the largest Military efforts, to a Disaster, this Nation has ever undertaken on it’s on soil…
** This afternoon, President Bush asked his Dad- former President Bush and a now family friend- former President Clinton to again help lead in a Nationwide Fundraising Effort… It does my heart good when I see all sides come together for the better good of this Great Nation and for all of mankind as far as that matter goes… Also today the President said to those who could hear him--“HELP IS ON THE WAY!”
**121 confirmed dead in Harrison County, Mississippi along… Many more dead possible...
** Gas Lines forming all over Shreveport Louisiana today. Shreveport is located up in Northwest corner of the State… I for one haven’t seen nothing like this since the 70’s. Highest gas prices I saw here was $2.99 a gallon for Regular Unleaded at the Racetrack Convenience Store on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop right off the Inner Loop. All the rest of the stations had their prices from $2.66 to $2.88 a gallon for Regular Unleaded... Two Circle K Convenience Stores were completely out of gas too… I guess it’s official now… Gas panic has set in!!! Talked to a friend in Dallas Texas this afternoon and he said all was normal in his part of the country… I told him to let me know what tomorrow brings… I’m afraid this MINI GAS CRISIS has just started… Hopefully the Refineries will be back on line soon and it will all be over before we know it……
** New Orleans descended into anarchy Thursday, as corpses lay abandoned in street medians, fights and fires broke out and storm survivors battled for seats on the buses that would carry them away from the chaos. The tired and hungry seethed, saying they had been forsaken.

** I’ll end tonight by asking everyone to say their prayers for the victims of this massive storm-- but always say one for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who have paid the ultimate price for freedom…
Good night my friends,
