On 27 May, The Mujahidin News posted a statement issued by The Mujahidin Shura Council in Iraq [Majlis Shura al-Mujahidin fi al-Iraq] in which the group announced a new series of lectures by Abu-Mus'ab al-Zarqawi to be released "soon."
The Mujahidin News is a new blog that provides statements by several Iraqi insurgency groups.
A translation of the statement follows:
“In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
“Oh God, guide our aim and keep our feet firm.
“Praise be to God, Lord of all creation. Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions.
“Soon, the Media Commission of The Mujahidin Shura Council will present a series of lectures, 'Has the Story of the Rejectionists Reached Thee' by Shaykh Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, may God protect him, the commander of al-Qa'ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers [i.e. Iraq].
“God is great, and 'honor belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not' [Koranic verse, excerpted from Sura 63:8. Note that the Mujahadin News also ended its May 18, 2006 statement with the same verse].
