The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Gabriel J. Figueroa, 20, of Baldwin Park, Calif., died April 3rd in Baghdad, Iraq, when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire. Figueroa was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
