Pakistan President Musharraf Says Present Assemblies Set To Complete Their Tenure

President General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday categorically stated that the present assemblies are set to complete their tenure and will not be dissolved. “Some people do not want the democratic system to function. They want me to dissolve the assemblies, but the assemblies will not be dissolved,” the President said while addressing a large public gathering here at the HMC Colony Ground. The President said the general election will be held and expressed confidence that the representatives of the present government will return successfully... He said with the introduction of local government system, with women empowerment and that of minorities through joint electorate system, true democracy has been established in the country...
