The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
1st Lt. Colby J. Umbrell, 26, of Doylestown, Pa., died May 3rd in Musayyib, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
