The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Jerome J. Potter, 24, of Tacoma, Wash., died May 3rd in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Potter was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
