The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Robert J. Dixon, 27, of Minneapolis, died May 6th in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Dixon was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
