The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Dan H. Nguyen, 24, of Sugar Land, Texas, died May 8th in Tahrir, Iraq, when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
