The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Jason W. Vaughn, 29, of Iuka, Miss., died May 10th in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Vaughn was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.
