The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Staff Sgt. Courtney Hollinsworth, 26, of Yonkers, N.Y., died September 9th in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and grenades. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
