No. 1132-07 September 19, 2007DoD Identifies Army Casualties
The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died September 18th in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near their unit during combat operations. They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.
Killed were:
Spc. Joseph N. Landry III, 23, of Pensacola, Fla.
Spc. Nicholas P. Olson, 22, of Novato, Calif.
Spc. Donald E. Valentine III, 21, of Orange Park, Fla.
