The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Maj. Michael L. Mundell, 47, of Brandenburg, Ky., died January 5th in Fallujah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Mundell was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 108th Division (Institutional Training), Spartanburg, S.C.
