The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jason J. Corbett, 23, of Casper, Wyo., died January 15th of injuries sustained when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during combat operations in Karmah, Iraq. Spc. Corbett was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
