One Task Force Lightning Soldier was killed when a helicopter went down in Ninewah Province, as reported 4 July.
One other Soldier was injured during the incident and was transported to a Coalition medical facility for treatment.
UPDATE: There are no indications that the helicopter was shot down. Preliminary reports indicate the aircraft hit electrical wires. An investigation continues.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification and release by the Department of Defense.
