The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. John C. Tanner, 21, of Columbus, Ga., died August 29th while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
