The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Capt. Michael S. Fielder, 35, of Holly Springs, N.C., died August 19th in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 248th Medical Detachment, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 44th Medical Command, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, N.C. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
