SPACEWALK LIVE

About Photo: Astronaut Dave Williams, STS-118 mission specialist representing the Canadian Space Agency, participates in the mission's first planned session of extravehicular activity (EVA), as construction continues on the International Space Station. During the 6-hour, 17-minute spacewalk, Williams and astronaut Rick Mastracchio (out of frame), mission specialist, attached the Starboard 5 (S5) segment of the station's truss, retracted the forward heat-rejecting radiator from the station's Port 6 (P6) truss, and performed several get-ahead tasks.

STS-118 Mission Specialists Dave Williams and Rick Mastracchio are preparing for today's spacewalk. Their primary task is to replace a faulty attitude control gyro on the International Space Station.

Today's spacewalk is slated to begin at 11:31am EDT and last 6.5 hours. This will be the second of four scheduled spacewalks to take place at the station.
Note: The spacewalk officially began today at 11:32pm EDT and wrapped up at 6:00pm EDT

* Note: 6:00pm CDT- Today’s spacewalk has successfully ended. The next spacewalk is scheduled to take place Wednesday. Rick Mastracchio and Clay Anderson will team up on this spacewalk to prepare the station’s Port 6 truss for relocation during STS-120. A fourth spacewalk was added to the schedule when STS-118 was extended by three days...
