The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Michael E. Tayaotao, 27, of Sunnyvale, Calif., died August 9th from wounds suffered while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.Media with questions about this Marine can contact the Camp Pendleton public affairs office at (760) 725-5044.
