Ready??? Great!!! Let’s get started with the IHT article first and it starts off like this... The angry Taliban reaction to the latest suspected U.S. missile strike in Pakistan could be an indication that a top militant died in the attack, officials and residents of the border region said Sunday as the death toll from the strike rose to 24... The U.S. contends that parts of the Pakistani border region, especially in its semiautonomous tribal areas, are bases for militants attacking U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan; Washington has recently increased pressure on Pakistan to eliminate the havens...

* AFP.Google.com brings us this report this Sunday morning... Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called a joint session of parliament on Wednesday for a rare briefing from army and intelligence chiefs on the battle with Islamist extremists, officials said... The closed-door briefing comes in the wake of a string of attacks across the country, including a suicide bombing last month that destroyed the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, killing 60 people... It also comes amid a spate of strikes by suspected US drones on alleged Al-Qaeda and Taliban hideouts in Pakistan, which have raised tensions between Washington and Islamabad, a key ally in the US-led "war on terror"... Zardari made the decision to hold the briefing at a meeting Saturday with army chief General Ashfaq Kayani and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani...
