The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Donald M. Young, 19, of Helena, Mont., died August 8th in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations August 7th in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
