The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. Stephen D. Shannon, 21, of Guttenberg, Iowa, died January 31st, in Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was hit by a rocket during combat operations January 30th in Ramadi, Iraq.
