Vice President Dick Cheney to Have Pacemaker-Like Device in His Chest Replaced

Vice President Dick Cheney, who has had four heart attacks, will have the pacemaker-like device that’s implanted in his chest replaced, his press office said in a statement... Cheney, 66, will schedule the procedure at a time that is convenient for him, spokeswoman Megan McGinn said... The device “is functioning properly and has not treated any arrhythmia,” she said. The “battery has reached a level where elective replacement of the device is indicated over the summer.”
