Before dawn Saturday, April 9, Hamas inflicted its heaviest missile blitz yet on southern Israel... acting now on guidelines from the Lebanese Hizballah. More than a dozen heavy Grad missiles were aimed at seven Israeli cities injuring 10 civilians. One exploded in the sand dunes of Palmahim, aimed at Israel's nuclear research reactor at Nahal Soreq, More missiles landed south of Kiryat Gat, Ofakim, Beersheba and Ashkelon. Sirens sent people running for cover in Gedera and Gan Yavneh. The two Iron Dome systems deployed last week intercepted six of the Grad missiles fired at Beersheba, Ashkelon and Ashdod. The IDF responded by targeting three senior Hamas commanders in an air strike in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younes...

About video: The Israeli Government says airstrikes on Hamas targets in Gaza will continue... Eighteen people, mainly civilians but also some militants, have been killed in Gaza since the strikes began after an attack on an Israeli school bus on Thursday which wounded a teenage boy... Since then Israel has carried out more than 20 raids on Gaza, claiming that they are targeting militants, and blaming civilian deaths on Hamas, who it says are using people as human shields.

* Haaretz.com reports... Israel has decided to continue to "work against terrorism in Gaza," despite Hamas' call for a ceasefire, Cabinet Secretary Zvi Hauser said on Sunday... The political-security cabinet convened earlier in the day in order to discuss the current situation with Gaza. After being briefed on the latest developments, the cabinet decided to instruct the Israel Defense Forces and security officials to "continue to work against terrorism in Gaza in order to stop the firing on Israel and return quiet to southern Israel," Hauser said...
