Conflicting Reports Say Libyan Dictator Muammar Qaddafi Has Been Captured or Killed

Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered on Thursday as fighters battling to complete an eight-month-old uprising against his rule overran his hometown Sirte, Libya's interim rulers said… His killing, which came swiftly after his capture near Sirte, is the most dramatic single development in the Arab Spring revolts that have unseated rulers in Egypt and Tunisia and threatened the grip on power of the leaders of Syria and Yemen… "He (Gaddafi) was also hit in his head," National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters… "There was a lot of firing against his group and he died."… Mlegta told Reuters earlier that Gaddafi, who was in his late 60s, was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked. He said he had been taken away by an ambulance… There was no independent confirmation of his remarks…

Here’s how I believe it all went down today on the Killing of Moammar Gadhafi.

First of all… USA… USA… USA…

.

YES… A United States Armed Predator Drone alone with a French Jet… attacked what has been reported to have been an 80 car plus convoy in which Gadhafi was riding in.

.

It appears Gadhafi survived this attack and bailed to what looked to me to have been some coverts by or under the main road. At least one of Gadhafi’s loyal soldiers was with him, trying to protect his X-Leader from a mob of Rebels and got himself shot all to heck and killed. The rebels then turned to dragging Gadhafi out of his hole, (Gadhafi shouting, DON’T SHOOT!!!)

In the video you hopefully clicked out above… you might have noticed that many of the Rebels had no shoes on. Well… that is because some had taken their shoes off and were beating the crap out of Gadhafi with them. Then sometime during all of this mob beating… one of the rebels took it on himself to shoot Gadhafi in the head.

.

 I figured he must have missed his target the first shot, hitting Gadhafi in his shoulder… but target on with the second shot, hitting Gadhafi dead square to the head, killing him instantly.

.

And that in a nutshell is the way the Killing of Moammar Gadhafi went down today.

* Reuters brings us the following report late Friday evening and it starts off like this… NATO called an end to its air war in Libya and the clan of Muammar Gaddafi demanded a chance to bury the body that lay on display in a meat locker after a death as brutal and chaotic as his 42-year rule… In a statement on a Syria-based pro-Gaddafi television station, the ousted dictator's family asked for the bodies of Gaddafi, his son Mo'tassim, and others who were killed on Thursday by fighters who overran his hometown Sirte…

The New York Times had been sitting on this story for a few days but they finally got the go-ahead from our military today to print and here it is. Their report starts off like this... The Taliban’s top military commander was captured several days ago in Karachi, Pakistan, in a secret joint operation by Pakistani and American intelligence forces, according to American government officials... The commander, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is an Afghan described by American officials as the most significant Taliban figure to be detained since the American-led war in Afghanistan started more than eight years ago. He ranks second in influence only to Mullah Muhammad Omar, the Taliban’s founder and a close associate of Osama bin Laden before the Sept. 11 attacks... Mullah Baradar has been in Pakistani custody for several days, with American and Pakistani intelligence officials both taking part in interrogations, according to the officials...

Mullah Baradar has been credited for rebuilding the Taleban into an effective fighting force and has been running the group’s daily affairs for many years, since Mullah Omar was forced to take a less active role in the organization due to his failing health... Senior al-Qaeda Leader Captured In Sunday Morning Baghdad, Iraq Raid

Coalition Forces captured a senior al-Qaeda leader and two others during raid Sunday morning in Baghdad.

Coalition Forces identified the man as the gatekeeper to the al-Qaeda emir of Baghdad. He has alleged ties to several senior al-Qaeda members and is reportedly linked to a number of mass casualty vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attacks in the Baghdad area.

He was detained along with another known al-Qaeda VBIED cell leader and one other suspect.

“This is a significant step in our efforts to disrupt the VBIED network and their devastating attacks against the Iraqi people,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokesperson.

Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device Cell Leader Killed, Eight Others Captured In Raids

Coalition Forces killed one terrorist and captured eight suspected terrorists Saturday morning during operations targeting al-Qaeda in Iraq and vehicle-borne improvised explosive device cells.

In southwest Baghdad, a terrorist was killed and three suspected terrorists were detained during an assault by Coalition Forces. The detainees indicated that the man killed was a local VBIED cell leader in charge of approximately 40-50 men. Coalition Forces also found several AK-47s in the targeted building.

South of Ramadi, Coalition Forces captured four suspected terrorists with ties to an al-Qaeda in Iraq foreign fighter facilitation network.

“These terrorists are indiscriminately killing innocent Iraqis,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokesperson. “Coalition Forces continue methodical and deliberate efforts to eliminate VBIED cells in Iraq.”

Fifteen British Navy Personnel Captured at Gunpoint and Escorted by Iranian Vessels into Iranian Territorial Waters

BBC News is reporting this morning that fifteen British Navy personnel... were seized at 10:30 local time when they boarded a boat in the Gulf, off the coast of Iraq, which they suspected was smuggling cars... The Royal Navy said it was doing everything it could to secure the release of its personnel, who are based on HMS Cornwall... It added that the men had been carrying out a routine patrol in Iraqi waters.

Several Network Leaders Captured Over Last Three Days In Iraq

Over the past several days, Coalition forces in Basra and Hillah captured Qais Khazali, his brother Laith Khazali, and several other members of the Khazali network, an organization directly connected to the kidnapping and murder in January of five American soldiers in Karbala.

Yesterday in Baghdad, Coalition forces captured the individual believed to be the head of the Rusafa car bomb network, the Al Qaeda-Iraq organization responsible for some of the horrific bombings in eastern Baghdad in recent weeks. In yesterday’s operation and in another operation early this morning, Coalition forces also captured three other individuals believed to be key members of the network, a vehicle prepared as a car bomb, and a cache of weapons and explosives.

Early this morning in Mosul, Coalition forces captured a former Saddam Fedayeen leader involved in setting up training camps in Syria for Iraqi and foreign fighters.

These actions, and others underway, reflect intensified and even-handed efforts to reinforce the rule of law in Iraq. They have also been complemented by recent initiatives to promote dialogue and reconciliation in Iraq.

We will provide further details of the ongoing initiatives and operations as they become available.

Suspected al-Qaeda Media Emir, Alleged "Butcher" Captured in Raids

Coalition Forces killed one terrorist and captured 16 suspected terrorists including an alleged al-Qaeda media emir during raids Friday morning throughout Iraq.

In Mosul, Coalition Forces captured an al-Qaeda related suspect known as “The Butcher” who is allegedly responsible for numerous kidnappings, beheadings, and suicide operations in the Ramadi and Mosul areas. Coalition Forces captured five additional suspects and killed one terrorist during the raid.

During operations in Fallujah, Coalition Forces captured two suspected terrorists with alleged ties to foreign fighter facilitation.

Northeast of Karmah, a suspected al-Qaeda media emir was captured along with seven others. The suspects are also believed to be part of an al-Qaeda courier network.

“Coalition Forces will continue to target al-Qaeda in Iraq and foreign terrorist facilitators regardless of where they may hide,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokesperson.

Pakistani Security Forces claim to have made the most significant arrest since 2001 in their bid to round up the leaders of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan... Mullah Obaidullah Akhund, who served as defence minister and senior aide to supreme leader Mullah Omar, was captured on Monday, officials said... A Taliban spokesman dismissed the claims as "rumour"... However, intelligence officers say Akhund was arrested with four other suspects in a raid on a home in Quetta, southwest Pakistan, on Monday...
