* FoxNews.com brings us the following good read today and it starts off like this... NASA is pushing ahead with work on its new Orion space capsule and Ares rockets despite their ambiguous status as lawmakers discuss the agency's 2011 budget request... Orion and Ares are part of Constellation, a NASA program designed to take astronauts back to the moon. Under his 2011 budget proposal, President Barack Obama called for canceling Constellation and urged NASA to work toward sending humans to an asteroid and then on to Mars... The outlook for Constellation's fledgling rocket and capsule spacecraft is not clear. Obama did recommend continuing development of Orion -- but only as an escape ship that could carry astronauts home from the International Space Station in an emergency... A NASA authorization bill recently passed by the Senate would direct the space agency to continue developing Orion and to fast-track plans for heavy-lift rockets and vehicles required for space exploration beyond low-Earth orbit. A different bill under consideration in the House also seeks to revive some Constellation plans, including Orion and the Ares rockets...

* The Washington Post brings us the following report this afternoon and it starts off like this... The battle over space has begun. And it's likely to be brutal... The Obama administration is attempting to kill NASA's ambitious back-to-the moon program, an effort that carried the imprimatur of George W. Bush. The Constellation program had already run through about $9 billion to develop a new crew capsule, Orion, and a new rocket, the Ares 1. Both are vaporized by Obama's new NASA strategy... Instead of going back to the moon, the administration wants to invest $6 billion over five years in a commercial taxi to orbit. The idea is to let the private sector take over the routine flights into space... But change does not come easily or quickly in the complex, costly and highly political enterprise that is space travel. Key lawmakers are furious at the prospect of losing jobs and NASA dollars. Also in an uproar are companies that will see billions in expected contracts fail to materialize...

When I first heard the bad news that the Moon missions were fixing to be scrubbed... it just made me SICK!
.
My friends... It’s time to start raising all kinds of cane over this...
.
This is a very... VERY bad thing for future Space Exploration and the Space War that’s going on right now that everyone seems to overlook.

The private sector will not be able to do all the things we would wish them to do in space and we cannot afford to get behind any country.
.
Our future security and defense depends on always being on the cutting edge of space travel. ALWAYS!
.
Hitching rides into space with Russia, China and India doesn’t seem to be all that good of an idea to me either. And that seems to be where President Obama is heading us...
.
I don't know about you but I for one cannot WAIT to get that man out of office.
He’s KILLING US!!!
