The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Buddy J. Hughie, 25, of Poteau, Okla., died February 19th in Kamdesh, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire and rocket propelled grenades. Hughie was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 180th Infantry, Oklahoma Army National Guard, Ada, Okla.
