Sorry to read all the casualities you post each day. Just breaks my heart for them and their loved ones. Our servicemen and women are so dedicated. So selfless. It's an honor to live in the same country with them.

My prayers are with the families tonight.

best wishes marie

Marie-
It breaks my heart too every time I open an e-mail with one of these DoD News Releases. For those who don’t know why I post these Casualty Reports… On Friday, June 17, 2005 I stared posting these DoD news releases after I put up this post…

"If President Bush should break the Law"
If President Bush wanted to break the Law for any reason, I would have to wish he would do so by doing this… SPAM!!! Yep… I said spam. He should make DoD spam every E-Mail account owned by a US citizen and spam it with-- The Department of Defense News Releases, (that seem to come several a day these days,) on US War Casualties.

Here’s why I would wish this. In the news media today, they seem to be more concerned on the numbers of dead, (to make some point of view,) NOT on the people who just died. I’m sorry but that’s JUST SO WRONG!!! When is the last time you saw a major news company report-- “Today___ died on___ Date... from___.” You haven’t. Some reason that person died for their country protecting us and yet their name will not be mention for nothing. I guess that’s not important enough to bring up these days. Just the numbers, make a point, make the news……

From this day forward-- AubreyJ.org shall post these Dod News Releases for I believe we all should take a moment and remember our dead as we learn about them. Hell-- These are people... NOT NUMBERS.............

Can't agree with you more. The media does report names but I don't think people understand the connection between the name and the person and his/her family. The problem with the media is that the bigger stories get bigger play time. Ex: Michael Jackson

I wish there was a time alotted just for the Iraq War. Say an hour long show that would detail EVERYTHING that has happened in Iraq that day. The good, the bad and the dead and the living and the wounded.

I hope that you understand that our soldiers are Republican and Democrat as well as Independent etc. Sometimes I think Republicans feel they have ownership over our troops. That's not the case. I have been very impressed with the show of support for our troops on both sides of the aisle. There are far right and left fringe groups whose ideas make it into the media but for most Americans we're united with our troops.

I do read the DOD site at least once or twice a week. I'm not in favor of the Iraq War.....never have been. That's my disagreement with Bush. I'm not against a war for defense of our nation but am not sure Iraq was the right course of action by our government. With that said, we are there and I support our effort to turn things around for the people of Iraq. I support legislation for our troops. Whether it's veterans benefits or armour for their vehicles. We must stick together on these issues.......right and left.

Thanks for reminding us about the reality of the sacrafices these soldiers and their families have made for our country.

best wishes marie

I think a lot more Republicans and Democrats agree on a lot more things than they would have ever thought possible. We just need to stop and listen to each other now and then.

Oh forgot I saw that you added my blog to your links. I have added yours in kind. I never add links to blogs that have L.G.F. linked but I will make an exception. It's a long story.......it's in the past.

Thanks Marie…
I like your reads so I had to add your site! (Different sides of the fence are we but on the same team-- That’s a good thing about this great country of ours.) By the way… Believe it or not I have been thinking of removing the link to LGF. To me it has a lot of traffic yet no substance….
