The UN and Iraq

If the UN really wanted to help Iraq and the War on Terror they would do this- Send forces to help guard the boarders of Iraq. That’s not asking too much from the nations of free peoples is it???

They announced we'll begin withdrawing troops by next December. Good news. We won't be out completely but it's a great sign. I had wondered why GB anounced withdrawl in Dec. and why we haven't. Of course I had to go to Great Britain's media to find the info.

best wishes marie

I think there was a lot of if’s, what’s and but’s with that announcement though. Regardless… If we can start to pull down the troop level by December, that would mean we had made a lot of progress over there and that would surely be a very good thing.

The article dates from last Feb. All i know is that Great Britain has set a timeline for withdrawl of most of it's troops next fall. That was anounced on the 4th. I don't believe they'd withdraw unless the U.S. will be doing something similar. i don't know if this is a good sign or a respectable way to begin withdrawl from Iraq. I believe they will try to return the focus on Afghanestan.......which is good news.
