The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. Charles E. Wyckoff Jr., 28, of Chula Vista, Calif., died June 6th in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
