VIDEO AND TRANSCRIPT OF HOSTAGE RESCUE IN IRAQ

(Best to read the below Transcript first - then watch the video clip afterwards - Video may take a second or two to load... so give it time - Right click to save to disk)
.
Here are Coalition Forces in action. In this video, you will witness the reconnaissance of some terrorists who were affiliated with hostage taking.
.
We received information as to their whereabouts and checked out what they were doing. Turns out they were in the process of taking some more hostages, so we deployed our troops within minutes, tracked down and killed two of the terrorists and rescued the hostages, unscathed from the trunk.
.
This was an intelligence-based operation. On 25 March, we had been watching this black sedan for a while in the Tarmiya-area. Here you see it facing traffic the wrong way as a truck approaches. One man with a gun jumps out of the car, followed by others, and the truck hesitantly pulls over.
.
At gunpoint, men from the sedan pull two men out of the truck and force the hostages into the trunk of the sedan.
.
One man gets back into the sedan while the other two get into the truck and drive away. The two men in the sedan drive off and then turn down a back road.
.
At this point our troops have quickly launched to intercept the black sedan with the hostages in it.
.
After it passes a white car, our forces engage the sedan with three disabling shots into the engine block. The two men get out of the car and begin to run, but they don’t get away -- both hostage-takers were killed.
.
Simultaneously, troops moved to secure the sedan and release the hostages and ensure that everyone else is alright.
.
The rescued hostages were questioned about the truck driver and the hostage takers, but had little information – they were released immediately to their families a bit shaken understandably, but safe and sound.
.
This engagement clearly displays the quick reaction capabilities of Coalition Forces -- the nearly simultaneous merging of intelligence, operations and supporting personnel to conduct a precise and surgical strike that more than likely saved the lives of two Iraqis.
