“While it is early days in the development of the Haynesville play in Louisiana and Texas, there have been some very encouraging results from our program as well as from other producers in the region,” said Jeff Wojahn, EnCana’s Executive Vice-President and President, USA Division. “Given the significant potential of our lands, we plan to re-allocate $290 million of savings from other areas of the company into our Haynesville program this year.

With a total capital program of $580 million we will be drilling about 50 net wells which will enable us to continue to increase our understanding of the play, further evaluate our lands, and retain prospective acreage.” In anticipation of increased future production from the region and to facilitate unrestrained market access for the company’s expected production growth, EnCana is advancing plans for midstream processing and gas transportation.

This includes recent commitments of 150 million cubic feet per day of capacity on the proposed Gulf South pipeline expansion and 500 million cubic feet per day of service on the proposed ETC Tiger pipeline.

Hello everyone. Hope you’re all doing GREAT these days…
.
Before we get started off with this round of posts on the Haynesville Shale, I just wanted to comment, again, on just how tremendously GREAT the Economy has been, for this part of my State and local area… simply because our local and State Government leaders went ahead and let us go after our OWN NATURAL RESOURCES.
.
Now… compared to most of the country in these hard economic times… it’s just amazing how much of an economic impact the Haynesville Shale has absolutely had on all of us Northwestern Louisianans... TODAY!!!
.
Again I ask President Obama and all those Dems out there… who refuse to let this great country of ours go after our OWN NATURAL RESOURCES in so many productive places here at home… When Are You Going To Wake UP!!!? You’re killing the American dream and this great country of ours by not doing this simple thing. LETTING US DRILL HERE, at home and letting us do it NOW.

The NEW ENERGY Policies of President Obama and the Dems are truly admirable goals to shoot for in the long-term future. But they really do nothing for us today or in the near future.
.
The Dems continue to argue that Drilling will not help us for years to come… so let’s just not do it. HELLO!!! This is a flat out LIE! And if they would have gotten off their butts -- YES… Off THEIR Butts… 8 years ago when President Bush tried to get Congress to let us go after our own resources here at home… we would have never seen gas at $4.oo plus a gallon at the pumps last year.
.
I for one still believe that those outrageous energy cost we had to endure last year can be seen, (and back then felt at the pumps,) as the beginning of this massive economy shutdown we find ourselves in today.
.
If nothing else… it sure sent the Auto Industry into the tank… By Itself!
.
Sadly… most Americans have NO FATH in these somewhat low energy prices we enjoy today staying at these prices for too much longer. And when they go back up again -- this time… God Help Us!
.

The Bossier Police Jury once again has postponed the long-proposed law to regulate oil and natural gas production that would be the first in the state, delaying a vote even on parts of the proposal until at least two weeks from now… The industry issues we have had have worked themselves out for now. ... But those issues might be coming," Bossier Parish Attorney Patrick Jackson told police jurors Wednesday…

* The Shreveport Times had this article posted up on their website last Friday, April 10th and it starts off like this… The recent announcement of a large natural gas deposit in northwest Louisiana, called the Haynesville Shale, could be this century's gold rush - or a fool's gold of hype… The only certainty at this point is that some fortunate landowners already are grinning all the way to the bank, patting their pocketbooks that are thick with lease bonus payments and anticipation of royalty riches if a producing well follows… The Haynesville Shale is being described as one of the richest fields of natural gas ever discovered in this region. But most experts and those connected to the industry agree it's too early to say for sure if the discovery will transform the landscape and economy of parishes that sit atop it… If the shale holds the amount of natural gas that is being predicted, it could mean millions for some landowners, a boom in the natural gas production business in this region, and a trickle-down bounty for communities, schools and others that would receive payments… "The economic impact will be absolutely monstrous if it's as big as it can be," said Don Briggs, president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association…

Dynamic today announced that it has successfully drilled and logged the targeted Haynesville interval in its Boyce-Pate 16-1 Well with positive results. This well is strategically located in the east-central section of the Company's Sentell Field in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. This well successfully encountered its Cotton Valley target, logging 66 feet of net gas pay in the Davis Sand intervals before the Company drilled ahead to further evaluate the well's Haynesville potential. The Boyce-Pate 16-1 Well reached a total depth of 11,200 feet on March 21, 2009. This is the third well in the Company's Haynesville development program, and the last of three Haynesville Shale vertical test wells in the Sentell Field planned this year…

Hello everyone. Hope you’re all doing well these days…

Before we get started off with this round of posts on the Haynesville Shale, I just wanted to comment on the news out today on the startup of the first time ever drilling of the Haynesville Shale inside the Shreveport city limits. That’s GREAT NEWS for Shreveport and the residence of. Not to mention all those property owners.

I for one would have to say to all the different Groups out there, in the City Limits that are still sitting on the fence with their mineral rights… ‘IF YOU SNOOZE -- YOU LOSE’.

It’s looking to me like the door is finally closing on the Lets make a Deal on your Mineral Rights. So if one doesn’t want to get in a position of being “Forced Pooled’, it’s probably time to start getting back together and see where you need to go with all of this. Good luck to you all too! I really mean that…

Now… Let’s get started off with this round of posts on the Haynesville Shale.

* Here’s an article I found posted up on the ShreveportTimes.com website this morning touching off on the future drilling within the Shreveport City Limits. It starts off like this... Drilling of Shreveport's first well in the Haynesville Shale natural gas formation will begin this week next to Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway… It's important to know that urban drilling is different," Joan Dunlap, vice president of Petrohawk Energy Corp., said during the company's news conference at the well site Monday afternoon. "I know there are a lot of issues associated with urban drilling… Petrohawk Energy crews have cleared out the pad site for the well at the end of the riverfront parkway near the start of the Jimmie Davis Bridge, she said...The announcement of the site had less to do with any outside factors than it did keeping the lease on the property active — it is the site of the former Hamel's Amusement Park, Dunlap said…

Drilling of Shreveport's first Haynesville Shale well to start this week

Since its discovery back in April of 2008, the Haynesville Shale has already had a massive impact on the ArklaTex, bringing in millions of dollars in lease money and jobs for all the drilling. Now, the nation's hottest natural gas play has hit another milestone: the first urban drilling rig will soon appear within Shreveport city limits. Site work began on Friday with crews clearing out what was once an open field behind Hamel's park between Clyde Fant and 70th Street.

Let’s get started off with this round of posts on the Haynesville Shale with this article I found posted up on the DenverPost.com website back on Jan. 30th. It starts off like this... Competition from new natural-gas reserves may delay the rebound for Colorado gas production — now at a three-year low, industry analysts and operators say… Emerging shale-gas fields — the Barnett in Texas, the Haynesville in Louisiana and the Marcellus in Pennsylvania and New York - will compete for drilling dollars when the market rebounds… "We are looking at a major realignment of the natural-gas markets," said Pete Stark, vice president for industrial relations at energy consultant IHS Inc. "This is a good thing. It means there is a lot more gas."… It might, however, be less good in the short term for the Rocky Mountain region…

Market Watch.com had this report back on Feb. 4th and it goes in part like this… Testing the Haynesville Shale in North Louisiana, EOG drilled two horizontal wells on its acreage during 2008. The Martin Timber #2H tested at a rate of 17.4 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd), gross with 4,700 psi flowing tubing pressure. The Bedsole 27#1H tested at a rate of 17.5 MMcfd, gross with 7,400 psi flowing tubing pressure. EOG has 100 and 57 percent working interest in the wells, respectively. Due to pipeline limitations, the wells are currently producing at a combined restricted rate of 17 MMcfd until additional infrastructure is in place. EOG has estimated net reserve potential of 3 to 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas on its 116,000 net acres and expects to drill 14 Haynesville wells in 2009.

EOG Resources Reports 2008 Results and Increases Dividend

NewsJournal.com had this report and it gos in part like this… Amid the losses on the company's annual report was information about Devon's East Texas exploration and production activity. The company, with a strong presence in Panola County, increased its production in the Carthage area by 10 percent in 2008 to more than 300 million metric cubic feet of natural gas per day… Devon reported it drilled 132 wells in the Carthage area in 2008 including 20 horizontal wells… The company also reported it added another 40,000 net acres to its lease position in the Haynesville Shale natural gas field of East Texas and Northeast Louisiana in the fourth quarter of 2008. Devon holds about 570,000 acres leased in the Haynesville Shale... The company said it continues to evaluate its position in the Haynesville play through drilling, coring and testing…

The Moseley 14 - 1H, located in Red River Parish, Louisiana, produced into the sales line at a rate of 14 MMcfe/d with 6,500 psi flowing casing pressure while still cleaning up frac load. Forest has a 100% working interest in this well… Forest holds approximately 3,800 net acres around the drillsite. Forest has approximately 140,000 gross (106,000 net) acres in the Haynesville/Bossier play and intends to operate a two rig program to drill 10 - 12 horizontal Haynesville/Bossier shale wells and participate in 2 - 3 non-operated wells during 2009. The Company currently has two horizontal Haynesville/Bossier shale wells completing and two drilling…

Forest Oil Announces First Horizontal Haynesville/Bossier Shale Well with an Initial Production Rate of 14 MMcfe/d

CHRON.com had the following report posted on their website, Feb. 11thand it starts off like this… The natural gas industry faces low prices, high stockpiles and an onshore rig count that is falling fast - but the head of the nation’s largest natural gas producer is optimistic… “We only need gas prices to be ‘good’ for three to six months every two-year period,” Chesapeake Energy Chief Executive Aubrey McClendon told reporters Wednesday at the Cambridge Energy Research Association’s annual CERAWeek oil and gas conference in Houston. “Then we’d be happy for them to fall to benefit consumers and affect our competitors.”… During a presentation at the conference, McClendon said his company believes “the fix is in for an oversupply,” referring to the boom in onshore production in natural gas shale plays where his company is among the most aggressive players… That boom pushed natural gas production up by as much as 6 percent last year, but recession-weakened demand and prices that are down more than 60 percent from 2008 highs led to high stockpiles…
