Afghanistan and growing violence

Jean Arnault, head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), has noted that even with the violence in Afghanistan on the rise, not all of the violence is caused by extremist attacks. Drugs, local rivalries, corruption and common crime are also involved. Yet at the same time, he points out that the current offensive by extremist groups, including the Taliban, is playing a primary role in the ESCALATION.

Just a thought… If the heat (violence) rises too much in Afghanistan, is the UN going to cut and run like they did in Iraq???
