DoD Identifies Marine Casualties
The Department of Defense announced today the death of two Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. Clifton B. Mounce, 22, of Pontotoc, Miss.
Cpl. Christopher D. Winchester, 23, of Flomaton, Ala.
Both Marines died July 14 when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations near Trebil, Iraq. They were assigned to 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N. C.
During Operation Iraqi Freedom they were assigned to 2nd Light Amored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team-2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
