If we should lose our will

"If we lose our will-- if people decide this fight isn't worth it-- then I think we will rue the day, and we will not like the world that will be left for us. It will be a world where what happened in London and what happened in New York and… what happens in Iraq ever day could happen anywhere in this world… No one living in that world will be safe, and everyone would live in fear… And that would be an unacceptable alternative to living in a free democracy.”
Air Force General Richard B. Myers

We have our finest young women and young men on the battlefield.

No, I am not losing heart,
My heart is just broken, when I
mingle with the people who don't have a clue.

It is about time the citizens of the civilized world, start slapping some of the idiots;

Who love the freedom someone else paid the price for,
But won't help!
And talk bad about those that are putting their life on the line.

Take the gloves off, slap some sense into those that are dragging freedom down.

Let's all do our homework.
Let's all do our homework.
Let's all do our homework.

The soldiers we have in Iraq are doing the job that they were forced to do by an administration that didn't do their homework. Most national security and pentegon people told Bush and Cheney not to do Iraq. Concentrate on Afghanistan was the mantra. But Bush thought he knew better without looking at any of the reports. How can anyone use poorer leadership than to ignore the people who have spent their lives studying the problem?

Your question and answer at the side suggests that if we didn't go into Iraq we would have the same problem in Afghanistan. If we didn't go into Iraq we could have put 10 times the troops into Afghanistan which would have brought stability to that country quicker and given us a base in the middle east to operate from. How could that have been the same? We would have been chasing al Qeada into Pakistan and perhaps been able to persue them as well. Of course that would mean estabilishing the diplomatic relations that would allow that. Keeping your eye on the ball may have lead to this objective. Unfortunately we have spread ourselves thin with the debacle in Iraq. And, it isn't the soldier's fault it is the leadership's fault.
