Support Our Troops & Their Mission - Sign The Petition Today

The American people deserve the truth from their leaders. Doing the right thing in the heat of a political campaign is not always the easiest thing. But when 4,000 Americans have given their lives so that America does not suffer the worst consequences of our failure in Iraq, it is a necessary thing. In such a grave matter, we must put the nation’s interests before our own ambitions.

My opponents’ calls for an immediate withdrawal, regardless of the consequences, is a reckless and dangerous move that would threaten the long term security of our country. Leadership is not about bowing to the political pressures, it is about thinking through the consequences and having the experience and judgment to make the tough decisions.

Senators Clinton and Obama will surely echo the sentiments of their extreme liberal supporters and call for a pre-emptive withdrawal from Iraq. The American people deserve better. I encourage both candidates to move beyond empty and destructive rhetoric and elevate the debate to a level that the country deserves. There are tough decisions ahead and America deserves leaders that are up to the challenge.

As president, I will ensure that our troops come home victorious in this war that is part of the larger struggle against radical Islamic extremism and will continue to make keeping our nation secure my highest priority.

How about Former Secretary of State Colin Powell as Senator John McCain’s VP?

For whatever reason this early Thursday morning, I started thinking Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would make a great VP choice for Senator John McCain. She would too!!!

Then I started to think about all the crap the left would put out on her and then I thought... Well... maybe not.

This is when the ultimate candidate for Senator John McCain’s VP came to mind... Former Secretary of State, Colin Powell!!!

Yes... I know... The left will throw out all the crap they can on him too... But there’s one thing different about Mr. Powell... He’s been out of the main loop of things for over 3 years and he left the Bush Administration long before all that hell went and broke loose in Iraq.

What does Colin Powell bring to the VP office you ask?

Well... 1’st of all he is considered to be a moderate conservative whose last job was U.S. Secretary of State. In the past he has also been a National Security Advisor, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and like Senator John McCain... he was/is a true war hero.

With no more thought on the subject... I would have to say a McCain/Powell Ticket would be almost impossible for the Dems to beat this election year... Wouldn’t you!!!?

Arlington, VA- At a press conference in Houston today, former President George H.W. Bush endorsed John McCain for president.

President Bush made the following statement on his endorsement:

"Today we are living in a time of war, a new and vastly more complex time of war. We also have more important challenges at home, chief among them, we clearly need to address those parts of our economy that demand attention. And at this critical time in history, the key point I want to make is the United States of America cannot be permitted to falter. Part of our Republican creed is a prevailing sense of duty. In the coming election, we do not have the luxury of taking a pass on our unique role and responsibilities in the world. And the indisputable fact that unites the greatest number of Republicans, most independents and many good Democrats is the fact that no one is better prepared to lead our nation at these trying times than Senator John McCain.

"As someone who also helped lead our great Party at the RNC and later as President, I believe now is the right time for me to help John in his effort to start building the broad-based coalition it will take for our conservative values to carry the White House this fall. His character was forged in the crucible of war. His commitment to America is beyond any doubt. But most importantly, he has the right values and experience to guide our nation forward at this historic moment. So I am very proud to endorse John McCain for the presidency for the United States of America. Few men walking among us have sacrificed so much in the cause of human freedom, and I am happy to help this remarkable patriot carry our Party's banner forward."

John McCain made the following statement thanking President Bush for his endorsement:

President Bush's service to this country goes back to World War II. That is where President Bush and I have something in common -- actually two things in common. I will not pursue that line of conversation any further except to say that I am very proud to be in the presence of President and Barbara Bush anywhere at any time -- two people who have devoted their lives to the service of this country.

The Wall Street Journal website brings us this report today and it starts off like this... Before Mitt Romney dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination, he and Sen. John McCain were frequently pounding one another in television advertisements, automated phone calls, stump speeches and debates... Today, Romney put their bitter fight behind him and asked his delegates to the national convention to support McCain. “This isn’t my first joint appearance with Sen. John McCain, but it promises to be one of our more pleasant exchanges,” Mr. Romney said. “Even when the contest was close and our disagreements were debated, the caliber of the man was apparent.”...

Sadly to some, Mike Huckabee can not win the Presidential run this year... (The math is simply not there -- 99.5% against him I’d say.)

What bothers me is there are so many Republicans today that are now saying they would never vote for John McCain, period! That’s their right... but I remind those with this view of 2 major facts... We are at war and that is not going to go away. And... NEW Supreme Court Judges will most likely be voted on over the next few years. (Remember, that’s a lifetime job.)

By not standing up and voting the Republican Ticket this year... those who sit it out will have become part of the left who will throw the war efforts, over the last 7 years, out the window... They will be letting a Democrat President put forward new Supreme Court Judges who will vote against everything we believe in.

Look at it this way... It will turn the Supreme Court back into the hands of the far left. That’s not acceptable. It’s just not! What about abortions... the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision? How many millions of unborn children will die, over the next many years, simply by the results of those sitting it out this year?

The way I see it... Senator John McCain is VERY strong on our National Defense... the strongest of ALL the candidates in fact. He has always been tough fiscally... a pro-business conservative you might say. He says and strongly supports the fact that the tax cuts ought to be permanent. And believe it or not... Senator John McCain has a fairly solid conservative voting record, which includes him being a long-time opponent of abortion...

Senator John McCain has flaws... there is no doubt about that... but the good in him out ways the bad...

Don’t sit the Elections out my friends... VOTE the Republican Ticket this year...
