DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
They died on August 22, 2005, in Samarra, Iraq, when they were conducting patrol operations and an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV. Both soldiers were assigned to the Army National Guard's 3rd Squadron, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Sparta, Tenn.

Killed were:
Staff Sgt. Victoir P. Lieurance, 34
, of Seymour, Tenn.
Sgt. Joseph D. Hunt, 27, of Sweetwater, Tenn.
