Letter to President George W. Bush

Letter to President George W. Bush
August 21, 2005

Light the Fires Mr. President.

This killing is not going to end by Politics. Not yet at least. The only ‘reasoning' these countries that support and harbor these terrorist know is all-out force. Light the Fires Mr. President. Let Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice, UN Ambassador John Bolton and the United Nations clean up the political mess that follows. At least you’ll have put a huge dent into the stopping of this drip- drip- drip of death from our men and women in harms way.

They deserve better Mr. President…They deserve what you promised them and the world and the countries harboring these terrorists. You told the entire world this: “Over time it’s going to be important for nations to know they will be held accountable for inactivity… You’re either with us or against us in the fight against terror.”

Put the world again on notice… That we’ve had enough. Give these countries a stern warning with a deadline. If they do not do as asked, no told, go and LIGHT THE FIRES on them. We can not keep kicking this can down the road hoping things will change. The politics with these terrorists supporting countries is not working and never will.

We tried the political route all through the 80’s and the 90’s. All it got us was 9-11 and now this constant Drip of Death that seems to have no end in sight…

I’m sorry for the above rant… It’s just everytime I do a post in my blog about the Department of Defense announcing the death of another one of our soldiers… it just… hell it hurts. It really, really hurts. And of late… this Nation has had way too many hurts.

I’ll end this letter by asking you too please remind all Americans, over and over again, that we are at war. I also pray that you Mr. President and all the Generals of our Armed Forces, (the retired ones too,) never let politics get in the way of doing what has to get done to end this War on Terror.

Keep up the good fight…
