AS OF 7:00am EDT, TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD HAD MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS NEAR 50 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. EDOUARD COULD BE NEARING HURRICANE STRENGTH BEFORE REACHING THE COASTLINE.

Tropical Storm Force Winds extend outward up to 35 miles from the Storm Center. Latest Minimum Central Pressure reported by an Air Force Hurricane Hunter Plane was 1002MB - 29.59 INCHES...

Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall this morning around 5:30am CDT and came ashore east of Galveston, TX... between High Island and Sabine Pass which is at the border of Texas and Louisiana. At that time... Edouard had Maximum Sustained Winds of 65 miles per hour, with higher gust... and was a bit short of being a Hurricane. (To be a Hurricane a storm must have winds of 74 MPH or better.)

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IN MIAMI, FL REPORTED TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD HAD MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS NEAR 60 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. A NOAA C-MAN STATION SRST2 NEAR SABINE PASS RECENTLY REPORTED SUSTAINED WINDS OF 54 MPH... WITH A GUST TO 61 MPH.

ADDITIONAL WEAKENING IS FORECAST AS EDOUARD CONTINUES MOVING FARTHER INLAND.
