Hurricane RITA- UPDATE Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005

As of 10:00 PM CDT, Hurricane Rita had maximum sustained winds of near 140 MPH with higher gust… (Rita will go down in the record books as the third most intense Hurricane in the Atlantic Basin on record.) Rita is still an extremely dangerous Category Four Hurricane. Some fluctuations in intensity are likely during the next 24 hours. Rita is expected to remain an extremely dangerous Hurricane.
